What the Key Terms Mean
Do I own the beat after buying a license?
A non-exclusive license does not transfer ownership of the beat itself. It gives you the right to commercially release new music using the beat within the limits of your license.
What does an Exclusive purchase include?
Under the current Exclusive agreement, master rights are transferred to the purchaser. The underlying composition, publishing shares and any producer royalty terms are handled separately in the final agreement.
MP3, WAV and Trackouts
Standard includes the stereo MP3 and WAV files. Premium and Unlimited also include WAV trackouts, giving you the individual beat elements for more detailed mixing and arrangement work in your DAW.
YouTube Monetization vs. Content ID
A license can allow you to monetize your own music video without allowing Content ID registration. Do not register the beat, stems or supplied track files in Content ID under a non-exclusive license.
What does “Unlimited” mean?
Unlimited refers to the usage limits listed for the license. It does not mean the license is perpetual. The current Standard, Premium and Unlimited license term is 10 years.
What happens if a beat is sold exclusively later?
Existing valid licenses remain valid according to their original terms. An exclusive sale stops future licensing of that beat; it does not cancel licenses already purchased.
Do purchased beats contain tags?
Purchased MP3/WAV files may include one short signature intro tag rather than repeated tags throughout the beat. Trackouts let you work with the individual beat elements when included in your license.
Which license should I choose?
Standard is designed for smaller commercial releases. Premium is the practical upgrade when you need trackouts, higher limits or paid performances. Unlimited removes the main usage caps. Exclusive is for buyers who want the beat removed from future licensing and master rights transferred under the final agreement.
